AcBel achieved outstanding ESG performance and has been recognized by the TCSA for 9 consecutive years
The list of winners of the "2023 16th TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards" has been released and AcBel won two awards this year! AcBel has won the "Sustainability Comprehensive Performance Award - Top 100 Taiwanese Sustainable Companies Award" for two consecutive years. In addition, AcBel has won the "Corporate Sustainability Reports Award - Electronic Information Manufacturing Industry (Category 1) - Platinum Award" for nine consecutive years. At the same time, AcBel’s carbon management performance has been recognized by the “2023 ESG Awards Carbon Management Award” issued by SGS Taiwan. This year is a bumper harvest for AcBel's ESG results!
This year, "2023 16th Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards" has a total of 526 participants, including companies, universities, hospitals, NGOs and government agencies, which increased by 24% from last year and hit a record high. A total of 731 companies have participated TCSA so far, which shows that sustainable development of companies has become a focus of attention from all walks of life.
AcBel, which recently won the SGS Carbon Management Award, was hailed by the media as one of the top three companies that have made the most progress in carbon reduction. In fact, AcBel implemented ISO 14064 GHG inventory as early as in 2009 to understand its own carbon emission status, formulate different net-zero strategies and action plans, and obtained ISO third-party certification in the same year. This year, for the 14th year, the implementation results were recognized again by SGS Taiwan with the "2023 ESG Awards Carbon Management Award". In the future, AcBel will more actively promote internal carbon pricing and supply chain carbon reduction plans, move towards green net-zero transition through resource integration, and work with suppliers to create a sustainable low-carbon supply chain to jointly achieve net-zero carbon in 2050.
AcBel actively responds to the government's 2050 net-zero policy and international trends to formulate ESG sustainable management strategies and set various short, medium and long-term goals. In June 2023, under the scenario of controlling global temperature rise at 1.5°C, it passed the Science-Based Targets (SBT) validation and became one of the top 50 companies in the Asian Technology Hardware and Equipment that passed the validation. In the first year of carbon reduction implementation (2022), through measures such as diversified energy-saving plans, renewable energy use and green electricity certificate purchases. The absolute emissions achieved in Scope 1 and 2 were reduced by 20.1% compared to the base year (2021), and the emission intensity of Scope 3 (millions of revenue) was reduced by 35.7%, which met the annual SBT targets.
